SNP Westminster Leader attends Candidate’s Adoption Night

28/02/24

Glen Reynolds, SNP candidate for West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine, welcomed his party’s Westminster leader, Stephen Flynn MP, to Stonehaven’s Station Hotel recently.

The event celebrated Mr Reynolds’ official adoption as SNP candidate and doubled up as a campaign fundraiser, with speeches coming from well-kent SNP faces in the city and shire.

Aside from Mr Flynn, the assembled crowd heard from Audrey Nicoll (MSP for Aberdeen South and North Kincardine), Aberdeenshire councillors such as Dawn Black (Stonehaven and Lower Deeside) and Fatima Joji (Westhill and District) while Anouk Kloppert (Aboyne, Upper Deeside and Donside) helped provide the evening’s musical entertainment.

There were also speeches from Aberdeen city councillor Michael Hutchinson (George Street/Harbour) and from Airlie Robertson (vice convener of Young Scots for Independence here in the North East) while Christian Allard, leader of the SNP group on Aberdeen City Council, came along to lend his support.

The compere was the ever-entertaining Ed Steel, former Aberdeen teacher and now creative director of XBow which promotes inclusion in the arts.

Mr Reynolds said, “I was immensely grateful for all the work put in to make this an eventful, amazing and inspiring evening surrounded by marvellous people. It was very special and positive in so many ways. Thank you to the staff at the Station Hotel who did such a brilliant job.

“And of course thanks also to all SNP activists, colleagues, supporters and friends for an unforgettable adoption night. So well organised!”
